Australian Citizenship : Our Common Bond
Main content
If your citizenship test is on or after 19 October 2009 you will need to study the testable section of the resource book titled Australian Citizenship : Our Common Bond.
What you need to know for the test
Everything you need to know to help you pass the test is contained in the free test resource book Australian Citizenship : Our Common Bond.
All test questions are based on the information in this book. All test questions are based on the information in the testable section of the book, which covers topics such as Australia's democratic beliefs and values, the responsibilities and privileges of citizenship and the law in Australia. The testable section of the book also contains 20 practice questions.
The non-testable section of the book contains interesting and useful information about Australia including Australian history, culture and notable Australians.

DVD
A DVD presenting key points from the testable section of the book, including 20 practice questions, is being developed. This study resource will assist clients who have low literacy levels. The DVD is expected to be available for order from this website later this year.
Test tutorial and practice test
To help you prepare for the test, there is a test tutorial and 4 short practice tests on this website with five example questions each.
The tutorial will familiarise you with the look and feel of the citizenship test and guide you on using a computer mouse to answer the test questions and submit your test.
The practice test contains sample questions similar to those asked in the citizenship test. Doing the practice test will help you prepare for the types of questions you are likely to be asked when you take the actual citizenship test. The practice test is not part of the process of sitting the citizenship test. You can take the practice test over and over again and the results of the practice test will not affect the final result of the citizenship test when you take it.
