The table below describes how to complete the application Form 132 Application to resume Australian citizenship.

Your details Part A requires you to provide your personal details. If you change address during the application process you must tell the department your new address.

Citizenship details Part B requires you to provide information about your former and current citizenship.
C
Your children Part C requires you to provide details of your children aged under 16 years of age who have lost their Australian citizenship and who are included in your application.

Your parents Part D requires you to provide the personal details of both your parents.

E

Proof of identity Part E requires you to list the documents you are providing to prove your identity.
F
Identity declaration Part F is not to be completed by the applicant. Ensure the Identity declaration is completed by someone from the designated list of occupations.

Good character If you are 18 years of age or over, you will need to show that you are of good character.

Supporting documents Part H requires you to list the supporting documents you are providing with your application.

Nomination of representative Part I allows you to nominate another person who can make enquiries or receive information on your behalf. Make sure you sign the authorisation at Part I if you want this to happen.

Payment details

Check the current fee for this application.

In Australia – Debit card or credit card are the preferred methods of payment. Debit cards cannot be used for applications lodged by mail. If paying by bank cheque or money order please make payable to the Department of Immigration and Citizenship.

Outside Australia – Credit card payments or Australian dollars (AUD) bank cheques are accepted. If you do not have access to a credit card or AUD bank cheque, contact your nearest Immigration Office outside Australia to find out about alternative forms of payment.

Declaration Carefully read and make sure you understand the terms of this declaration before signing it. If the applicant is under 16 years of age, the responsible parent must sign the declaration on behalf of the child.
