Eligibility for Australian citizenship may be based on your own circumstances or those of your parents. These questions help us determine whether you may be eligible to apply for Australian citizenship and the type of application that best suits you.

For questions about your parent, please answer for just one of your parents - an Australian one if possible. If you are using the Citizenship Wizard to find information for someone else, answer the questions as if you are that person.

You can call the Citizenship Information Line to discuss your personal circumstances or to get forms and further information. In Australia, telephone 131 880 between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm Monday to Friday.

Callers requiring language assistance can call the Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS) on 131 450.

Callers who have a hearing, speech or communication impairment can contact us through the National Relay Service (NRS).
