Which form do I use?
Your circumstances determines which application form to use. You can apply online or on a paper application form.
- If you are required to sit a citizenship test use: Form 1300t Australian citizenship – general eligibility
- If you do not need to sit a citizenship test use Form 1290 Australian citizenship –other situations
- If you are unsure the Citizenship Wizard will give you information on the form that best suits your circumstances.
How to complete the form

Your details |
Provide your personal details, identify your country of citizenship and whether you have previously entered Australia. If you change address during the application process you must tell the department your new address. |

Payment details |
Check the current fee for this application If you wish to claim a fee exemption or concession you should indicate this here. Remember you will need to provide documents to support your claim. You will also need to nominate your payment method. Generally, fees are not refundable. Payment You can make a payment by credit card, debit card, bank cheque or money order made payable to the Department of Immigration and Citizenship. Debit and credit cards are the preferred methods of payment. Before making a payment outside Australia, please check with the Australian diplomatic mission where you intend to lodge your application as to what methods of payment and currencies they can accept and to whom the payment should be made. |
